Maria Behnam-Bakhtiar is pleased to present the first solo exhibition by MAMI (Mohammad Khodashenas) under the title Letters.

A pioneer Iranian pop artist artist from Lahijan, Mohammad Khodashenas was born in 1975. Khodashenas’ training in graphic design, culminating in an undergraduate degree from the University of Tehran, is evidenced in his work. His works have been exhibited internationally next to the most prominent pop and street artists such as Mr. Brainwash, Seen, Black Le Rat, Paul Alexis amongst others, as well as in Iran, including at a workshop of the famous film maker Abbas Kiarostami, as well as in the Middle East and Europe.

In his latest artworks, all the childish handwritings, religious symbols, coffee house paintings, store layouts, local bazars counters, Persian calligraphy and text, also pictures of religious and political characters, panel makings in stores, slogan writings over the walls of cities as well as different notes have been assembled.

Letters is the artist's visual testament to the essence behind his latest works presented at the gallery in Monaco from January 9th to February 28th 2023.
